The trade

Roofing isn't one of the things we do.It's what we know.

  • Asphalt and metal roofing systems
  • Intake and exhaust ventilation
  • Ice-and-water protection
  • Flashing and transition details
  • Decking inspection and replacement
  • Freeze/thaw, snow load and ice damming

The difference

Same roof. Two entirely different experiences.

Roofing bids rarely describe the same work. Here is what we commit to in writing — and the question worth asking any roofer you are considering, including us.

Who does the work

Roofing Technicians and crews trained, selected and held to Roof Masters standards.

Verify with any roofer

Ask who will actually be on the roof, and who supervises them.

The estimate

The exact roofing system and scope documented in writing before anything starts.

Verify with any roofer

Ask whether the bid names materials, underlayment and scope — or only a price.

Decking

Replacement pricing disclosed before tear-off — not discovered on the final invoice.

Verify with any roofer

Ask for the per-sheet decking rate in writing before you sign.

Winter protection

Ice-and-water coverage planned for Northwoods freeze/thaw and snow loads.

Verify with any roofer

Ask exactly where ice-and-water membrane will be installed, and how far up.

Ventilation

Intake and exhaust evaluated as part of the roof system, not added on later.

Verify with any roofer

Ask how intake ventilation will be measured and balanced with exhaust.

Flashing & details

Chimneys, valleys, walls and penetrations detailed as part of the installation.

Verify with any roofer

Ask which flashings are being replaced versus reused or sealed.

Cleanup

Debris hauled and a magnetic sweep before we call the project finished.

Verify with any roofer

Ask what cleanup is included and who performs it.

Accountability

Our name goes on the project, so our standards go with it.

Verify with any roofer

Ask who answers the phone if there is a problem five years from now.

The Roof Masters Promise

Our name goes on the roof. Our responsibility doesn't end when the trailer leaves.

Roof Masters standards. Roof Masters accountability. From the first measurement to the finished roof and the years that follow, Roof Masters remains accountable for the work carrying our name.

Written scope

You know what roofing system and work you are purchasing before installation begins.

Documented work

Important roof conditions, details, and completed work are documented throughout the project where appropriate.

Clean property

Cleanup and property protection are part of finishing the job — not an afterthought.

Local accountability

If you have a question after the project is complete, Roof Masters is still the company you call.

Apples to apples

Already have another roofing quote?

Let's compare it apples-to-apples.

Bring us any roofing estimate. We'll help you understand what is included, what isn't, what materials are specified, and which differences actually matter. No pressure and no need to criticize the other contractor — just a clearer comparison.

Before signing a roofing contract, ask

  • Who will actually perform the installation?
  • What roofing system is specified in writing?
  • Where will ice-and-water membrane be installed?
  • How will ventilation be evaluated?
  • What happens if rotten decking is found, and at what rate?
  • Are flashing details included?
  • What workmanship warranty is provided?
  • Who handles cleanup?
  • Who answers the phone five years from now?

Real roofs. Real homeowners. Local accountability.

The process

Three deliberate steps.

No pressure and no surprises — you will know what we found, what it costs, and when we arrive.

See how we work
01

We look, carefully

We assess your roof — on site or virtually with aerial measurement technology — and tell you plainly what we found, including when it can wait.

02

We put it in writing

One clear estimate. Materials named, scope defined, timeline honest about the season.

03

We build and clean

Roofing technicians work the details nobody sees, then leave the property cleaner than they found it.

Standing seam metal roof on a Northwoods home in winter

Materials

Chosen for the winter, not the brochure.

CertainTeed architectural shingle, standing seam steel, ice-and-water protection carried well past code. We specify what survives forty inches of snow and a spring thaw — then install it the way the manufacturer intended.

Northwoods conditions

Built for what winter does here.

Every specification we write answers to one of these. It is the part of Northwoods roofing an out-of-town crew learns on your house.

02

Ice dams

Heat escaping into the attic melts the snow that refreezes at your eave. The lasting fix is ventilation and membrane — not a roof rake.

Ice dam prevention, done at the roof
04

Tree cover & pine debris

Needles hold moisture in the valleys and shade keeps the north slope damp. The right material follows the lot, not the brochure.

What survives under the pines
05

Lakefront wind

Open water gives the wind a long run at your roof. Starter courses, edge metal and fastening patterns matter more on the shoreline.

Roofing for lake homes & cabins
06

Steep pitches & seasonal access

Cabin rooflines run steep, driveways run long, and the window between thaw and freeze-up is short. We plan for all three.

How we work on cabins & seasonal homes

Lake homes & cabins

Lake homes and cabins are their own trade.

Steep pitches over tall great-rooms, decks shaded by pines, snow that arrives off the lake, and a building that sits empty half the year. These roofs ask different questions — and they are the questions we answer most.

Heritage

Roofing knowledge handed down — not learned on your house.

Four generations in the trade, from Milwaukee sheet metal to Northwoods lake homes. That experience shows up in the details you will never see.

Neighbors, not customers

They showed up when they said they would, worked straight through, and you couldn't find a nail in the yard when they left. The roof looks fantastic.

Kathy R.Tomahawk, WI

Fair price, no sales pressure, and they explained every option. Our lake place has never looked better — and it handled the first big snow without a hiccup.

They looked the roof over, took photos, and explained exactly what needed doing and what did not. Honest people doing honest work.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked on every driveway.

Still wondering something? Call 715-453-4800 and ask a person.

Most Tomahawk and Minocqua area homes fall in a wide range depending on square footage, roof pitch, layers to tear off, and the shingle or metal system you choose. We measure the roof, show you the material options, and give you a written price for the system you request — no ballpark guesses and no pressure.

No — we intentionally limit how many projects we take on each season so every roof gets the time, crew, and finish details it deserves. A high-volume crew may install more roofs in a week; we would rather do fewer roofs and do each one right, because that is what lasts through Wisconsin winters.

Most residential roofs are torn off and finished in one to three days. Larger lake homes, steep pitches, and metal roofing projects can run longer. We tell you the schedule before we start and keep you posted daily.

If damaged or rotten decking shows up after tear-off, we document the condition and replace only what is necessary. Deck replacement is quoted at a published per-sheet rate agreed before the roof is opened, so you know up front how unexpected repairs will be handled.

For many cabins and lake homes, yes. Standing seam metal sheds heavy snow, resists ice damming, and can last 50 years or more. It costs more up front, so we walk you through the tradeoff against a premium architectural shingle.

Yes — fully insured, with manufacturer-certified installation crews. Certificates of insurance are available on request before we ever step on your property.

Pay for your roof your way. Financing options may be available when needed, and homeowners are also welcome to use their own bank, credit union or lender. We provide a clear written estimate and project documentation so you can choose the payment option that makes the most sense for you.

We're based in Tomahawk and work throughout Minocqua, Eagle River, Rhinelander, Merrill, Wausau, Woodruff, Hazelhurst, Lake Tomahawk, Harshaw, Three Lakes, and Antigo.

Long-term accountability

Still your roofer after install day.

A roof replacement shouldn't end with the final cleanup. If you have a question next winter, need project or warranty information years from now, or simply want us to take another look at something, call us. Roof Masters intends to remain your local roofing company long after the installation is complete.

The same local company before the roof. The same local company after it.
