Snow shedding is the point — and the risk
A standing-seam roof lets snow release before it can sit, melt, refreeze at a cold overhang, and dam. On a lake home with a cathedral ceiling and almost no rafter cavity to ventilate, that alone can end a decade of February ceiling stains.
